Assistant Professor – Virology
Description
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor with the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology in the area of Virology. We are searching for individuals with exceptional promise to develop a vibrant, externally funded research program. While we encourage applications from candidates studying any aspect of virology, we are particularly interested in candidates who will build a research program focused on emerging RNA viruses. A highly competitive start-up package is available.
The successful applicant will join our highly interactive and rapidly growing virology community. Our well-established virology group is supported by the UF Emerging Pathogens Institute, UF Center for Inflammation & Mucosal Immunology, UF Health Cancer Center, highly ranked Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry, CDC Southeastern Center of Excellence in Vector Borne Diseases, and NIH Southeast Center for Integrated Metabolomics. UF is also developing a world-class artificial intelligence (AI) research infrastructure to support investigators.
